Aroma Di Roma Centro Information

Right in the heart of downtown Long Beach, Aroma Di Roma Centro feels like the kind of place you stumble into once and then keep coming back to whenever you’re nearby. The location is hard to beat, sitting along Ocean Boulevard where there’s always a steady buzz of foot traffic, yet the moment you step inside, things slow down just enough to enjoy a proper Italian-style coffee or a relaxed meal.

The menu leans heavily into classic Italian café fare, with a mix of paninis, fresh salads, pastries, and espresso drinks that actually taste like they were made with care rather than rushed out during a busy lunch hour. One visit included a caprese panini with perfectly ripe tomatoes and mozzarella that had just the right balance of creaminess and acidity, paired with a cappuccino that came out with a smooth, velvety foam. It’s the kind of place where even something simple like a croissant feels thoughtfully prepared, flaky without being overly buttery.

The atmosphere plays a big role in the experience. There’s a casual, European café vibe with outdoor seating that’s perfect for people-watching, especially on sunny afternoons. Inside, it’s cozy but not cramped, and you’ll often see a mix of locals working on laptops, couples catching up over coffee, and office workers grabbing a quick but satisfying lunch. It doesn’t try too hard to be trendy, which actually works in its favor-it feels authentic and comfortable.

Service has been consistently friendly in most visits, with staff who seem genuinely familiar with the menu and happy to make recommendations if you’re unsure what to order. During peak hours, things can slow down a bit, but that’s fairly typical for a popular spot in this part of Long Beach. Reviews online often echo this balance-praise for the quality of the food and drinks, with occasional mentions of wait times when it gets busy.

What stands out most is how Aroma Di Roma Centro fits into the local scene. It’s not just a place to eat; it’s a reliable go-to whether you’re meeting someone for coffee, grabbing a light lunch, or just taking a break from walking along the waterfront. While it may not offer an extensive dinner menu or fine dining experience, it delivers exactly what it promises: a relaxed, flavorful, and genuinely enjoyable café experience in a prime location.

What People's Say About Place

This is an absolute favorite coffee shop of ours in Long Beach. The staff is incredibly skilled, and wrote the book on customer service. We’ve never had a bad experience there. Overall, the coffee is on point, and perfectly brewed. Espresso is pulled just right, and the food is dialed in and presented with purpose. The location is really easy to get to, and we enjoyed their outdoor patio in addition to indoor seating once things cooled off a little bit. This is a great location to stop by on your way to the cruise port, especially if you’re up for a small walk across the bridge over to the cruise area. There are great bathrooms shared in the main building, and you just need a key from the cashier if the coffee shop. The food is incredibly great tasting, and healthy and fresh. They have a variety of alcohol, gelato, pastries, full menu for food, and of course great coffee.

really luv this small cafe :) the panini sandwiches were sooo good and crunchy. we got the toscano and the breakfast one. the worker was super friendly and she was accomodating making a custom drink. sat outside and the atomosphere was amazing. wish i lived here i would come here all the time! mahalo

I recently moved here and started going to this coffee shop. Overall, everything has been tasty and nice, but yesterday there was a different girl at the counter and instead of making the iced coffee (which I always order here), she made a strange mixture where the bottom of the cup was hot and the top was filled with ice. And it was even served in a cup meant for cold drinks. Total disappointment.

We arrived at the Catalina Express a little early, and we were starving. We wanted to grab lunch before heading to Catalina Island. The agents said that there was a café within walking distance of the parking garage, but they did remember the name. When we walked there, we discovered Aroma di Roma Centro. My wife and I decided to split a meatball panini. We were blown away! The meatballs were made fresh, and they used fresh mozzarella with a delicious red sauce! If this sandwich is representative of the rest of the menu, this needs to be your goto stop prior to leaving for Catalina Island!!

Atmosphere is a 5! Food is a 3. Haven’t tried the coffee or drinks yet! Give it a try! Service can be a 5 or 4, depending on the person! This place is different from most coffee shops in Long Beach. It’s very clean. It’s calm. It’s secluded and comfortable. We only tried the smoked salmon bagel and it was tasty. Also, ordered a cup of eggnog with nutmeg. No one crazy seems to come here. The customer service (young japanese woman) was wonderful! Overall, I really like this place. I can’t speak on the drinks, as we aren’t coffee drinkers. We noticed that they serve wine and beer too! and they have a good variety of pastries! Hopefully our experience continues to be positive, as we hope to continue coming here. (: update: I went back for the same dish and it was prepared differently, which dropped down my joy for eating it a bit. It was still tasty. My recommendation to them is to keep the tomato the same thickness as the salmon.. this will make the bagel more enjoyable. When the tomato was cut very thick, it made the bite and taste ratio off. Still tasty, but could stay perfect like the first time (: Went back for a burrito. It was just ok. I was told it was good, it was more like a wrap. Service was ok today. A young, pretty girl with straight hair. There was a very loud man working too. He was talking so loud and his voice is harsh on the ears, so we decided to not order more and just go somewhere more relaxing. Overall, i would definitely go again! Will try a new meal another day.

Came here since our go to spot on Second St. closed I can still get my “Sexy” bagel (on everything!) with a delicious coffee! Great place to sit and read or catch up with friends

much better drinks than the starbucks a few blocks down. never had a miss on their specialty drink menus, friendly baristas. The new extended hours are a godsend.

A very cute cafe serving great drinks. The customer service was excellent and went above and beyond. Thanks for a great experience.
